You can finally (!!!!) preorder my second full length album, "Black & Gold". So much work into making this thing that it would all probably just bore you - but I will say this album is packed with guest appearances ranging from Ben Barnett (of Kind Of Like Spitting), Justin Medal-Johnsen (of Beck/Air/Ladytron/etc.), Tyler Blake (of Young Americans), Jeremy Castillo (of Mighty Six Ninety) and so many others. We've got horns, clarinets, vibraphones, organs, rhodes, violins, banjos, musical saws, synths, and so much more.

The album features ten songs:

1. What We Don't Know
2. Fake Crimes
3. Emmylou
4. All Along The Day
5. The Mississippi Line
6. Cold Country
7. If You Please
8. Backwoods Child
9. Call Out To Me
10. Hooray For You

All preorders will come with a pin, posters, and stickers (while they last). I am going to be selling the CDs for $7.99, which I hope is fair price - if you want the album bad enough and you are stone-broke please don't hesitate to email me and we'll work something out. My email address is aaronschroeder@aaronschroeder.com

I'll be posting songs from Black & Gold in a week or so.

We are immensly proud of this record and we all hope you enjoy as much as we do. Thank you for listening and reading.

Just a quick note to let everyone know "Southern Heart In Western Skin" is now available in Europe through Letterbox Records . A lot went into getting this worked out over there, so please stop by and support this fantastic label and many of my new labelmates -- it's all great stuff.

More news about "Black & Gold" coming soon...

A bunch of songs have been making it over to the music page lately. Four new ones were just posted today. I should turn them into some kind of EP, right? For now, they are yours for free if you'd like.

No news yet on a release date for the album. Everything so far is good, it's just slower than you might expect when schools/ girls/ work is involved. Bummer. I'll post a song or two from the album really quickly here -- seriously.

This site is like Myspace, but light years better. It's cleaner, easier to navigate, WAY less ads, no spam (yet), and is totally free. I really recommend you make an account. If you don't want to, click over there anyway because you can get a couple free acoustic songs of mine.

Someone with a bunch of time to trash made up this hilariously inaccurate biography of me on Wikipedia. These are the things your mother warned you about.

Aaron Schroeder is an alternative rock singer influenced by traditional American grunge music (Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Mudhoney) and modern hard rock (Wolf Mother, Limp Bizkit, Hinder). He has released one record titled "Southern balls In A Western Sack" and is currently working on his interracial adult film, "Black & Gold".

Hailing from Woodland Hills California, Aaron's musical career began at the age of 11 when he saw Candlebox preform in L.A. "I was absolutely fuckin' psyched!!". From then on, afternoons at the Schroeder household consisted of Aaron and his childhood friend Guthrie playing 4 Non Blondes covers and eating meals of Kosher hot dogs chopped up in macaroni.

A few years later Aaron led his group of friends out of the bedroom and into the gymnasium of Bayside High School to preform a cover of "Teenage Whore" by Hole for the Baysipalooza talent show. "Those were the spinach days. Just playin true alterna tunes. No managers, preteen girlfriends, cough syrup, and skateboards. A lot has changed." Aaron was right, an awful lot did change. No one, not even Aaron could for see what was to soon happen.

A year after Aaron's preformance at Baysipalooza, Aaron took a job as an extra on the set of Boy Meets World. It just so happened to be that the episode he signed on for included a preformance by singer Gavin Rossdale and his band Bush. To Aaron's luck, Gavin's hemp neck less unexpectedly shrank after swimming, and Gavin was forced to seek medical attention off the set. When ABC producer Joel Watrous called out in response to this, "Does anyone here sing and play guitar?", Aaron stepped up and sang his new song "Crominium (Dead) Rabbits". Watrous was blown away by Schroeder's preformance, and decided to sign him to Jive Records on the spot.

The 5 long years after signing to Jive weren't smooth. Aaron's ripe young body would soon be devoured by the Hollywood Party scene. Aaron soon found himself following the lines of coke into pornography sets. After paying his.. dues, Aaron 'Kosher Dill' Schroeder, became a star of the porn industry. Though Aaron's attention was on his film career, he never forgot about music. Unlike his work on the film set, Aaron never finished with his album. The chapter of Schroeder's Hollywood life would suddenly come to a close on a June afternoon when he received a phone call from both the upset record label, and the health clinic. Jive would drop Aaron the day before he went in for a treatment for syphilis.

Now on his own, Aaron relocated to Portland Oregon. While walking through a Borders books one afternoon, Aaron found himself face to face with the "bitch who gave me the clap". To settle things, she offered him a job as an underwear model. Lacking money, Aaron jumped on board and toured Asia in a pair of briefs. Fed up with the modeling jobs, for they conjured up memories of his former fuck film career, Aaron quit and walked off the runways with the fruit of his labors. A Macintosh Powerbook.

This Apple computer would prove to be far more than 'a computer'. When Aaron discovered a "Totally Grunge" compilation, and sample tracks by Limp Bizkit and Hinder on the Mac, he was inspired to jump back into music. The following month was one huge late night of mixing and remixing Aarons music for producer Caron Aramer. If it hadn't been for Caron's skills, Aarons dream of "Southern balls In A Western Sack" wouldn't have ever come true.

Aaron Schroeder lives a very unpredictable life, as shown by his history, though it is known that his move to the projects has inspired him to work on his first interracial adult film, "Black & Gold".

Until next time, download the music, share, enjoy your lives. Thanks for reading.

If You Wait Another Day, I Will Wait A Day

Just wanted to write and let you know that the album is winding to a close quickly here. We've got some trombone left and various vocals harmonies, but it should be finished before you know it. It's certainly going to be nice to have it finished; at the same time, I will be odd to not have a project to work on anymore. Hopefully we'll jump right into album three as soon as this one is pressed.

I'm looking for album art, so if you're a painter, sculptor, drawer, destroyer please email me! I've got a couple things I'm playing with, and I may end up having some sort of poll so everyone can have a say. In the meantime, I've posted a new demo called "Orphan Girl" which you download for free. The song will be on the third or fourth record.

Some of my favorite things:

1. Clown Girl by Monica Drake

2. Dan Fante's books are almost better than his father, and that's some serious shit.

3. Winterkids

4. Ivan Aivasovsky

If You've Got A Blacklist, I Want To Be On It

Good afternoon...some updates:

1. New photos have been posted on the Myspace page. Many thanks to Mr. David Bryce for the excellent job and for forcing me to listen to Brand New on his iPod while driving around town.

2. A couple new demo songs are up on the music section here, which you can download for free as long as you promise to share them with a friend.

3. The new album, "Black & Gold" is coming along brilliantly. Although this is far from the official track list, the album is going to have the follow songs on it:

> What We Don't Know

> Fake Crimes

> If You Please

> Call Out To Me

> All Along The Day

> World With No Name

> Backwoods Child

> Emmylou

> Cold Country

> Hooray For You

> The Mississippi Line

I'm hoping to have the thing done, out, finished, shipped away by very early 2007. We'll see how realistic that is over the next few weeks.

4. Dara Horn's book "The World To Come" is a most enjoyable read if you're on the prowl for something new. Speaking of, this Chris Garneau video is not only new but also pretty great. Another one of my favorite things right now is The Mighty Rime who seem to have vanished from the world altogether.

Enjoy your holidays folks. Stay safe and warm.

Hello and welcome to the first installment of my personal dotcom. If you are looking for fellow who wrote songs for Elvis Presley, I recommend you go somewhere else. If you're here for other reasons, I'll give them to you:

1. My first record "Southern Heart In Western Skin" is available from iTunes, Amazon, and CdBaby. Of course you can always do things the old fashioned way and mail a check or money order; please don't hesitate to get in touch for that kind of thing.

2. The second record "Black & Gold" is being recorded with the help of many lovely and talented people. This thing is going to feature tubas, violins, trumpets, organs, accordions, along with the usual army of guitars and drums and shit. You will love it. Seriously. The name "Black & Gold" is taken from a Stephen Dunn poem called "Instead Of You". Look it up.

3. Letter Box Records is going to be exclusively distributing the first record in the U.K. They are great people. Englishmen and Englishwomen feel free to email Gav and demand he help fund a U.K. tour and I'll buy you all drinks and good times.

4. Danny Kincaid designed this site and I think he's done an excellent job, one worth way more than what I'm actually giving him. If you'd like Danny to give you the treatment, I'm sure he'd love to hear from you. Also, many of the pictures on these pages were taken by the fantastic Ellie.

5. If this page is missing something, let's fix it. If it needs a message board then we'll get one. If it needs crazy explosions of animated girls taken their clothes off, we'll do it. I didn't really want to go overboard yet, but if you push me, I will totally walk that plank with you.

6. Richard Wiley's book Soldiers In Hiding is absolutely amazing. Read it if you can find any time at all.

Thanks. You'll hear from me soon.
- Schroeder
